Morihito Doomae Ceramic Exhibition: "Light and Shadow"
With their simple yet profound forms and delicate, graceful colors centered on botanical motifs, these works possess both a sense of tranquility and splendor, while maintaining a striking presence. These pieces do not merely serve special occasions; they naturally radiate beauty in daily life, accompanying the user's time.In his creative process, Doomae uses an overglaze painting technique, translating familiar plants into accessible patterns that bring a gentle color to the dining table. This exhibition focuses primarily on silver-leaf ceramics, a medium that has held particular fascination for Doomae in recent years. In addition to these silver-leaf works, which reveal rich expressions through the shadows and textures on their surfaces as they catch the light, we are pleased to present a wide range of pieces, including black-and-white sgraffito ceramics, colored overglaze works, and smaller creations.Morihito Doomae, who has his studio in Hakodate, Hokkaido, we invite you to experience his world at the exhibition.
