WELLBEING TOKYO A feast of pottery that connects time — Jingdezhen × Lacquerware Japan 2025.5.3(Sat)-5.11(Sun)

Wellbeing Tokyo will be showcasing contemporary Jingdezhen pottery combined with Japanese lacquer.

The city of ceramics with a thousand years of history, Yongle techniques of the Ming Dynasty were revived, and the pottery was vividly colored using only mineral pigments.

We have gathered works by ceramic artists who are renowned around the world, including tea utensils with intricate carvings in relief on translucently thin porcelain.

This exhibition combines the beauty of modern Jingdezhen with Japanese lacquer art to present it as a new form of chinoiserie.

On the first day, we will offer a small Chinese tea as a welcome gift.
