※Jamdani weaving is a traditional craft from the state of West Bengal, India, made from extremely fine cotton or silk. The finished fabric is light and airy, much like celestial robes.
The intricate patterns are created by painstakingly picking each stitch and inserting the weft thread, a highly labor-intensive technique that can now only be seen in rural areas about a five-hour drive from Kolkata—a truly precious piece of handiwork.
Furthermore, pieces made with hand-spun yarn have become rare masterpieces today.
