Kaori Uchida Exhibition September 12 (Sat) – September 20 (Sun), 2026

Kaori Uchida Earthenware Pot Exhibition

Twenty-five years have passed since I began making pottery.

Throughout this time, I have focused on creating vessels for everyday life, with a particular emphasis on earthenware pots (donabe).

In this exhibition, in addition to the classic pots and vessels I have been crafting over the years, I am also debuting a few pieces fired in a wood-burning kiln as a new endeavor.

Firing in a wood-burning kiln, which relies on the flames and ash of the wood, creates a unique character different from my usual firing methods. Engaging with the clay and fire in this way has provided me with an opportunity to reflect deeply on my work once again.

I would be delighted if you could enjoy both the techniques I have cultivated over the years and these new experiments that lie ahead.
