"grounded" Kenji Gomi Exhibition

"Grounded" is said to mean "stable" or "down-to-earth." I like this word as it aptly describes both the steady, step-by-step nature of my creative process and the impression I get from my own work; I chose it as the title for this solo exhibition as if it were a table of contents in the history of my own pottery.

I want to create as many things as time allows, from works taller than myself to pieces that fit in the palm of a hand. Throughout this, I am acutely conscious that my work must always be "beautifully fired, dry and crisp, with a relaxed and lovely presence."

I am gritting my teeth and working hard to prepare such pieces!
